UNITY challenges and expects each affiliated Youth Councils to develop annual projects in four categories: Cultural Preservation, Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles, Community Service, and Environmental Awareness.

Also in 2007, as a part of the Youth Leadership Development, members of the Youth Council attended the Northwest Indian Youth Conference in Boise, ID and the National UNITY Conference in San Diego, CA. Youth were inspired by keynotes speakers including The Chairman of Red Lake Tribe, Chance Rush, Jackie Bird, Litefoot, Adam Beach and our own Paulette Jordan. The Youth Council presented workshops at both conferences titled: How to raise money putting on a Youth Basketball Tournament.
